Chosen Solution
The “gunk” I have circled in this picture of the home button here is the only thing I can find that looks wrong with the Home Button and It’s Connector to the Shield Plate on the back of the LCD. Everything looks perfectly fine except for this connector on the logic board. Thoughts? also if you do think this is the problem how would I go about removing this? Isopropyl Alcohol? Thanks for any help!
I would use very fine tweezers and be very careful taking it off to avoid damaging the connector. Better to try isopropyl alcohol and brush first. And yeah the two pins are blocking the connection to the home button extension cable so it’s probably stopping touch ID from working.
