After cracking my screen, i decided to replace it. All seemed to go well but when I assumed I had finished and tested the screen there were flicking black lines all over the screen. I have checked the connections several times now and I have tried a hard reset to no avail. Phone is functioning fine for calls, camera, charging, everything just the screen is flickering constantly and it is extremely annoying. I’ve tried to upload a picture, hopefully you can make out the lines.
most likely a defective part. i would return and get another part.
I had the same problem with horizontal lines. I tried unplugging and plunging the cables many times and it did not work. I tried cleaning them and it did not work. Finally I realized that when I change the position of the screen at a certain angle it stops. After an hour of trying to figure it out, I realized that there is a chip like component in the new screen where all three cables are connected to the screen. (See the image) When you bend the cables and try to place the screen in the right position to complete the installation, that chip like component touches the screen itself and it makes flickering. I just places some paper behind that component so that it does not touch the back of the screen. No more flickering. At the end of the day, it was mainly because of the new screen’s cable connections. If you can not find the right spot and fix it, return the item and get a new one.
Yea can make the lines out.. You could try and clean the lcd contact on the screen and on the logic board board but failing that it’s possible you have gotten a faulty screen. If you don’t mind me asking were if u purchase it?
This could be a bad part, or it’s also possible that you bend the cable too sharply.
I tend to stay away from ebay its hit and miss. The screen you purchased probably is just a low quality copy I would return and get a refund if you can.
I have the same problem and have noticed when I connect the screen lcd cable by itself I don’t get the lines… but once i connect the touch sensor cable and the camera I have a the lines… is it a short?
I have the same issue, I’ve tried connecting and reconnecting the display many many times to no avail, I was assured this was a good part and I have not bent the cable too much (I was very careful) … any suggestions are welcome, thank you!
I had this problem too Contacted the seller and returned it for a replacement I noticed if I tilted the screen from side to side, the lines would disappear, but reappear when put straight Seller was direct and offered a replacement, but I think I buggered my board trying to troubleshoot the problem and my home button doesn’t work now Ugh!!!!
Yes only solution to change the display .
